Superintendent Communication

We received great news on July 18, 2017: Ansonia Public Schools' Pre-K Program has been awarded another five-year term of accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children!

The Pre-K program was first accredited in 2007, and the scores received during the site visit in late May are the highest scores ever achieved during the assessment process. In all 10 Early Learning Program Standards and Criteria, the Ansonia program received perfect scores of 100%.

I would like to congratulate Pre-K Supervisor Tracy Platt and the entire staff of Pre-K educators for this incredible achievement! This accreditation covers the pre-k classes at Ansonia Middle School as well as the class at Mead School from July 2017 through December 1, 2022.

Have a great summer! Our summer reading is posted on the main page, as well as math assignments. The first day of the 2017-18 year is Monday, Aug. 28, 2017.

Sincerely,

Carol Merlone, Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools
