Elementary Education History The members attend several training sessions prepared by the student teaching directors. In addition, an all-day workshop is held where students are given the opportunity to plan their teaching agendas and practice teaching. In these training workshops, students are presented with information about important issues concerning prejudice, discrimination, stereotyping, self-esteem, and multiculturalism. Age-appropriate teaching packets have been developed and are updated and revised each year. The student teachers are taught ways to introduce and discuss these issues with students at an elementary level. In addition, they are taught classroom management skills. |
